The social event proposed for Thursday, September 24, is a private visit of "Musée d'Orsay", followed by a banquet in the museum or a banquet and cruise on the "Bâteaux-Mouches".

The "Musée d'Orsay" in Paris (close to the Institut des Cordeliers, see back of the invitation card!) is the main french museum for XIXth century art, more precisely from mid-XIXth to World War 1. It covers the full impressionist period, including pre-impressionism and post-impressionism. It boasts masterpieces from Bonnard, Cezanne, Degas, Denis, Manet, Monet, Puvis de Chavannes, Renoir, Van Gogh and many more. It also has a sculpture department (Camille Claudel, Rodin..), and an architecture and decorative arts department.

Instructions to go to "Musée d'Orsay" will be provided in the welcome package. We will be welcomed at 7:00 pm at a separate entry (Entrance C of the Museum: 5 groups scheduled 7:00, 7:30, 7:45, 8:00 and 8:00 pm). We will split into groups for a 1 hour guided visit with one French (8:00 pm) and four English speaking guides. The thema of the guided visit will be the Impressionists paintings.
Free visits between 7:00 and 9:00 pm.
